Pastor Leah is a Thayer County native who lives on her five-generation family farm near Byron. She is a gradutate of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and received her M.Div. from St. Paul Lutheran Seminary. After a 27-year career as the director of the Belleville Public Library in Kansas, as well as serving as a lay minister, she was ordained in 2018. She began her call at Trinity Lutheran in Janurary of 2024.
Pastor Leah serves on the LCMC Heartland District Council and is an ambassador for Hope 4 Kids International. She and her husband, Rick, have traveled to Uganda with that organization and are happy to speak to churches, clubs and organizations about their experiences there.
Leah and Rick love spending time with their family: son James and wife Haileigh of Lafeyette, Indiana, parents of Joseph and Eleanor, and daughter Juliana and husband Jeremy of Deshler, parents of Adelynn and Luke. Pastor Leah also enjoys spending time in her garden, travel, hiking, reading, cooking, and following Husker sports.
